What A Damn Great Show!!

To review Megadeth's performance on Sunday night, it was AMAZING!  I got there at around 8:45, waited briefly in line to buy this sick ass Megadeth tour shirt, and then they came on stage right after.  I couldn't have asked for better timing(sorry, Lacuna Coil, I didn't get to see you guys perform unfortunately).  Dave's vocals were spot on, and his solos were out of this world.  Chris Broderick's solos were crazily insane, Shawn Drover's double kick was just so fuggin' brutal, and David Ellefson was a god among men on the bass.  Great show, great crowd, and the ladies didn't look too bad ahaha.

Megadeth on May 6th

Well, this Sunday, after Cinco de Mayo, Megadeth will be performing at Hard Rock cafe in Universal, Orlando, FL.  Luckily, this guy(myself) has the golden ticket to get entry into the live event.  The show begins at 8 p.m. and Lacuna Coil will be warming the stage up for them.  I can't wait for all this to go down, since Megadeth is on my top 5 list of all time favorite bands.  Hell, I think it's safe to say that The Big 4, are in my top 5, ha!  And, in terms of musicians, Dave Mustaine makes it into that top5 category as well.

Anyhow, if for some reason, you are not familiar with the music of Megadeth, here are a couple of samples.  These are the songs, that I feel always draw in the audience of first timers.

Review Of Earthday Birthday 19

Needless to say, EDBD 19 was amazing.  I had shitloads of fun for 14 straight hours with no breaks.  Nothing better than wandering and seeing naked females with nothing but body paint on walking around.  The set up was pretty dope.  There were 3 different stages, The "big stage", the second stage, and the acoustic stage.  Amazing musicianship was all around this past Saturday man.  Bands such as Trivium, Halestorm, Evans Blue, INC, Soil, Theory Of A Dead Man, and many others were there.  Of course Chevelle, Staind, and Godsmack performed as well ;).  For those who were dying to see Godsmack go on, like me, pretty much waited all day and night, since they were the last performance.  I got a little buzz on, on some jager bombs and what not, and even crowd surfed during their performance.  Sully's drum duo with Joe is always amazing.  Even my buddies/recruiters of the United States Marine Corps were there as well.  Events like these should happen every damn weekend!

Helvetios

I finally was able to listen to Eluveitie's new album Helvetios that came out back in February, and I love it!  It's pretty much what I expected as well, a kick ass album.  I have never known Eluveitie to release garbage, and they have NOT started now.  For those that never have heard of them, Eluveitie (pronounced el-vey-ti) is a folk metal band from Switzerland.  Their sound can be described as Celtic Folk Metal with Melodic Death Metal influences.  The band formed in 2002 and their first EP, VĂȘn came out in 2003.

One of Eluveitie's two largest draws is their liberal, virtuosic use of traditional instruments amidst guitars and Chrigel's wide ranging, emotional screams.  The other is their lyrics; instead of any of the languages currently spoken in their home country, the screams, clean vocals, and occasional spoken word parts are often in the extinct language Gaulish.  Eluveitie is Etruscan for "the Helvetian", referring to an inscription dating to the earliest record of the Celtic Helvetii tribe from what is now Switzerland.

Here's one track that automatically loved from their new album entitled "A Rose For Epona"..  And yes, there are females in this band.

Again, for those who have never heard of Eluveitie until now, here's some of their other kick ass songs.

A Fucking Steal!

So, realizing that I never found my Cowboys From Hell CD, I recently bought myself another copy off of eBay for $1.37, along with Machine Head's Unto the Locust album for free.  That is a goddamn steal!!  Now, I haven't been this excited in quite some time, because these are 2 kick ass albums, especially when one of them is from PanteraCowboys From Hell is one my favorite albums of all time, and tracks like "Cemetery Gates", "Message In Blood" the song "Cowboys From Hell", and most importantly, this one.. are the reason why.

"Domination" just gets me fucking amp'd.  From Vinnie Paul's double kick, to Dimebag's solo, and Phil's brutal vocals, I can picture my self kickin' somebody's teeth in while this song is in play.  All in all, amazing song, amazing album.

Tomorrow's Worldwide Events

Happy Opening Day for all the MLB fans out there!  My goddamn Red Sox lost to Detroit 3-2, so I'm kind of pissed.  Anyway, check out the list below of tomorrow's worldwide events!

Scorpions do work in Rennes, France at the Le MusikHal.

Accept will be rockin' in Paris, France at Bataclan.

Mastodon is gonna fuck shit up in Montreal, Canada at the Metropolis.

Gwar is gonna jam in San Francisco, California at The Regency Ballroom.

I would love to attend all these shows, especially the Scorpions and Mastodon events, but unfortunately, it just won't be possible.  For all those that will be attendance, fuggin' enjoy it man!  Last time I found out about a Mastodon event I used this link http://www.livestream.com/mastodonn to view a live stream of their show.  Hopefully it still works, because I definitely will be part of the live streaming audience.

Does anyone remember this?  This is the first song I ever heard by Gwar.  They must have a great live show.  This shit's entertaining son.
